U.S. House Financial Services Committee Chair Patrick McHenry Blasts Gary Gensler, SEC Over ETH Security Stance

House Financial Service Committee Chair Patrick McHenry has taken to X to claim United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler “knowingly misled Congress when pressed on the classification” of Ethereum (ETH) in testimony the U.S. regulator gave to the Financial Services Committee last year, a Tuesday statement from McHenry states. McHenry’s accusation comes on the heels of crypto firm Consensys taking legal action against the regulator for its conflicting views on ETH.
